Nursing is not for everyone. It takes a very strong, intelligent, and compassionate person to take on the ills of the world with passion and purpose and work to maintain the health and well-being of the planet. Sarah Emma Edmonds (Franklin Thompson)
December 1841 - September 1898
Edmonds was a nurse, but she is more known for disguising herself as a Civil War soldier on the side of the Union Army. It was then that she went under the alias Franklin Thompson.
Death is stranger than I thought. I thought it was just an event, like you are awake and then you’re not, but now I realize that for me it’s a process.
